About This E-Seminar
As you begin your career in the classroom, your expectations are certainly high. You can hardly wait to share the excitement of learning with your students; after all, that's why you've chosen teaching as a profession. At the same time, and realistically, your concerns are many. Foremost among them -- if you are like most new teachers -- is how to juggle the many details of organization, discipline, and instruction that together create a successful daily learning environment.

This e-seminar is designed to help beginning teachers strengthen their classroom management skills from the start. You will learn to develop practical strategies, skills, and techniques that can be utilized to create a positive, cooperative classroom climate where maximum learning takes place.

"Developing Your Classroom Management Plan" is organized according to the five environments within which a teacher operates:

My Self - Aids in identifying and modifying your personal teaching style.
My Students - Provides practical strategies on better managing student misbehavior and mediating classroom conflicts.
My Classroom - An interactive, step-by-step approach for creating a personalized classroom management system.
My School - Details how teachers, administrators and other faculty members may help foster a positive classroom culture in the context of the school environment.
My Community - Explores ways in which teachers can reach out to the community outside their classroom to foster a positive classroom climate.

Throughout the course you'll be able to print out the work you've completed, including your personal classroom management plan, reflective writing, activities, and resources to refer to in your classroom.
